Improving Type 1 Diabetes Management during Young Adulthood
Why is this study being conducted?
Young adulthood is a difficult time to manage type 1 diabetes. A lot of challenges occur as young adults are managing diabetes in new situations such as work and college. The study examines whether support from one’s family and friends in meeting diabetes goals can make this time of life easier. Do you have type 1 diabetes and want to contribute to research to potentially help yourself and others?
Who can participate in the study?
- Have been diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for at least one year
- Ages 18 - 24
- Are comfortable sending texts via cell phone
- Can read, write, and speak English
- Plan to live in U.S. for time of study
What will you be asked to do?
- You will receive diabetes information via printed materials, text messages, and/or phone calls from a study coach and research team.
- You will be compensated up to $350 for participating in the study and your support person will receive $160
